It’s just that alfas are born and raised to go racing and do you know where race cars live most of the time? In a garage, being worked on by multiple people. And leaving a alfa out all alone is like taking a tiger and putting it into a tiny cage, it doesn’t know what to do and it just breaks itself hoping that one day someone will come along and work on it constantly like a race car.
